A non-human proctored Online Assessment Platform is intended to address the limitations of the traditional paper and pencil examination with human proctors and the issue of credibility of assessment in online learning. This type of OAP enables individual monitoring of students; verifiability of performance in an extended period of time; and efficient management of resources on the side of the institution and at the same time, it offers convenience and accessibility in terms of time and location and real-time feedback on the side of students. The research and development of the UPOU’s OAP had gone through five phases: Phase 1: Requirements Gathering & Analysis; Phase 2: Design; Phase 3: Development; Phase 4: Testing; and Phase 5: End-Users Training.
