The Ugnayan ng Pahinungod UPOU in collaboration with the Faculty of Education offered the Online Bridge program – Bridge English and Bridge Mathematics courses is part of its Kahandaan, Kasanayan, at Kaalaman program. The online bridge program aims to enrich participants’ knowledge in such disciplines, prepare them for higher education, and empower them to practice English and Mathematics skills in their daily lives.

The online bridge program was offered from 1 July to 30 September 2020. A total of 1,243 participated in the program which was delivered via MODeL, the UPOU online platform for its Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). The courses were facilitated by Pahinungod volunteers who served as course coordinators and helped participants navigate their way through the course contents and sites.

The Online bridge program is part of UPOU’s commitment of developing innovative ways of teaching and learning to provide the Filipinos wider access to quality higher education responsive to the needs of its stakeholders. It has afforded continuity of learning to a wider population and provided an opportunity to both UP students and alumni to be of service during this current health pandemic.
