Blessing and Launching of the Smart Food Value Chain Processing Facility

Under the project “Leveling-up of Quezon’s Bagsakan Center Agri-Processing Facilities through Adoption of the Smart Food Value Chain (SFVC) Framework,” DOST-CALABARZON and DOST-Quezon launched the SFVC Processing Facility in the Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) - Lucena City Campus last 14 October 2022. The GMP and FDA-compliant facility serves as the food processing area of the Sentrong Pamilihan ng Produktong Agrikultura ng Quezon Foundation Inc. (SPPAQFI)—better known as the Bagsakan Center—for the production of vacuum-fried fruits and vegetables, and frozen squash puree. The SFVC project aims to add value to the supply-produce in the Bagsakan Center, and in turn, eliminate food wastage during times of overproduction.
