Anchored on DOST’s National Science and Technology Week theme, Agham at Teknolohiya: Tugon sa Hamon ng Panahon, the celebration will be held via Facebook Live on November 24-26, 2021. This is the second time to hold a virtual festival because of the restrictions caused by the pandemic. This year’s three-day celebration will showcase various S&T initiatives and activities among its member agencies.

This year, the LBSCFI will once again virtually exhibiting S&T programs, technologies, services, and other initiatives geared towards overcoming the challenges brought by the pandemic. Join us as we witness these latest discoveries and breakthroughs aimed to empower and improve our quality of life. The virtual exhibit will be formally opened during the Opening Ceremony on November 24, 2021 at 9:00 AM.

What is vaccine hesitancy? Why is herd immunity important? Anchored on the NSTW theme, this year’s Talakayan on COVID-19 Vaccines and Herd Immunity will be conducted on November 25, 2021 via Zoom and Facebook live to provide an avenue for a more transparent conversation on COVID-19 vaccines that will benefit not only Los Baños but neighboring communities as well. Featuring experts and community members, the Talakayan aims to establish a fruitful discussion and to further increase vaccine confidence among the citizens of Los Baños and the public.

To cap off this year’s SyenSaya, the Awards and Recognition of Best Papers among Los Banos researchers as well as the youth will be conducted on the last day, November 26, 2021, to acknowledge and recognize the best R&D papers in agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources sectors by our local researchers as well as the youth.

In the special science and nature city of Los Baños where S&T fuses with the arts, this year’s Spoken Word Poetry Contest aims to cultivate creativity among the community.
